What is OutDry®?

An innovative lamination process is used to laminate a membrane directly onto the inner surface of the uppers and completely seals every potential point where water could get in. OutDry® greatly improves performance and comfort compared to traditional membranes used in combination with a lining.

  • It leaves no space between the upper and the membrane and does not allow water to penetrate into the shoe. There is therefore no increase in weight and the footwear dries more quickly.
  • Designed specifically for foot protection, it uses a hydrophilic membrane that is extremely breathable and has a high sweat dispersion capability (SATRA TM 47 test). It leaves an ample dry air space between the membrane and foot, allowing ideal conditions to be maintained.
  • The OutDry® membrane has an exceptional elasticity and resistance to repeated flexing.

The Stelvio OutDry® boot is the most breathable waterproof boot on the market today. Designed with comfort in mind the Stelvio OutDry® has a hard wearing Vibram® sole for longer life and a lightweight composite toe cap to reduce fatigue.

Bootie

With the standard ‘Bootie’ system, the membrane is bonded together with the lining. Water can penetrate and stagnate inside the shoe: comfort is affected and weight is increased.

OutDry®

The OutDry® breathable membrane is laminated directly to the upper’s inner side. Water stays on the outer surface of the shoe and your feet remain perfectly dry leading to greater comfort and breathability.

Stabil-ActiveThe rigid plastic support inserted into the sole beneath the heel and waist provides greater stability and support of the arch, consequently improving foot posture.
OutDry®OutDry® is the emerging technology for waterproofing footwear. Thanks to an innovative lamination process, the very fine membrane is applied uniformly on the inner surface of the uppers. Each potential point where water could get into the footwear is perfectly sealed-off. With the former “bootie” system, the water was able to find its way between the membrane and uppers, consequently stagnating there. When water gets in, the shoe gets heavier; in very cold weather it could freeze and with movement it could deteriorate the padding and reinforcements of the footwear, compromising durability.The movement of the foot is restricted within a “sock”. With OutDry® no more water gets into the footwear. The foot is dry and there is no additional weight throughout the day. No “sock” and consequently the foot is free to move in a more comfortable space. The footwear maintains all the advantages of Sixton Peak over time.
Dynamic-ControlSafety footwear has always aimed at increasing performance whilst keeping comfort levels high, a fundamental factor in physical work. “Dynamic Control” provides a clear example of this philosophy, with its design and manufacture based around protective and non-slip footwear. The plastic inserts protect the wearer’s ankle further from sharp objects and protrusions. And the rigid structure improves the way your foot rests on the ground, and ankle control of sideways movements.
Dual MicroAnti-abrasion, non-slip microfiber will resist more than 200,000 Martindale cycles.
FlyFitThis is the pride and joy of Sixton®’s research related to maximum comfort for feet in movement, with the innovative anti-static, breathable and anti-bacterial properties of the insole. FLYFIT is made of multi-layer material. The upper layer in contact with the foot is made up of highly resistant net that ensures excellent moisture-absorption. The in-between anti-bacterial layer is made up of self-forming soft foam to ensure comfort and firm support of the foot; the minute holes improve elimination of moisture and ensure quicker drying when at rest. The third layer made of breathable fabric gives the insole stability and shape. The last layer, thanks to the addition of special non-slip and self-blocking elements, stops the insole from moving inside the footwear.
BlowfitA multilayer of form and function. The upper FLYFIT part in direct contact with the foot guarantees breathability and comfort. Another heat-formed supporting layer in EVA, with minute holes in the heel area, ensures correct posture and support of the foot. The support in EVA extends shape and resistance durability, supporting the weight of the body correctly. When the perforated part compresses and expands, it lets moist air through and away from the foot, generating a flow of air that improves comfort and the microclimate inside the footwear.
Dual InsulationsA multilayer of form and function. This insole is designed specifically for winter use. Made of highly resistant and absorbent felt, it keeps the foot warm and dry. A layer of soft and comfortable insulating polyethylene and an “aluminium” treated polyethylene film keep the foot insulated from the ground. Insole for winter use and for “CI” marked footwear for protection against cold.
C.T.CThe result of the most advanced Sixton® research. Manufactured in ultra-light composite material, the toe cap is impact-resistant to more than 200J, and returns to its original shape immediately after a violent impact, with no risk of imprisoning toes. It ensures perfect thermal insulation, does not conduct electricity and it’s not detectable by metal detectors.
SRCNew legislation in the form of European directive 89/686 sets out that tests must be passed on 2 different surfaces, with
the consequent classification as SRA or SRB. Having met the requirements of both SRA and SRB, SIXTON PEAK footwear can now proudly boast anti-slip properties classed as SRC.
W.E.DStrip with conductive silver filaments. In contact with the foot, this feature ensures anti-static footwear over time, with any type of hygienic insole.
